This is going to be one of those Fridays where I am counting down the minutes before I can leave work and go home.
Oh yeah, I am admitting this on the web... perhaps I want to get caught?
I want to share some roving I've dyed in the past for today's Fiber Friday post. Yarn is inspiring, sure, but sometimes roving is better.
I appreciate the potential in it. It's like a canvas or a fresh journal, ready to be taken over and imprinted. You need courage for this, and I find that inspiring.
Obviously I'm starting to get interested in spinning again. It's creeping into my mind from time to time so I know it's making a comeback.
I find that I usually have one big flow of creative energy and I channel it somewhere, like knitting or spinning, writing, playing music, etc. I can do all of these things just fair, but if I focus in on one activity, it's a lot better.
I've been knitting and writing patterns lately, but not much else. Good for productivity, but other things are on the backburner.
Looking at the quantity of yarn in my apartment, I think I have one more stash busting blanket in me this spring. Of course, a neverending blanket on the lap = crazymaking.
By the time I finish this kind of project, I'm usually turned off on knitting for a good long while.
But maybe not socks. I could probably knit socks through a heat wave or some such drama just fine!
